What happened to Rodney Holbrook from Builth Wells, Wales, UK can only be described as the plot of a fairytale. One morning, the retired postman noticed that some items left behind after a DIY task the night before had been moved around – some of them even having been cleared neatly into a box. To find out who or what was behind these peculiar goings-on, Rodney set up a camera in his garden shed. What he found, is truly out of this world!

The tiniest housekeeper: The movie

Captured on camera is a tiny mouse, lifting items from the workbench, moving them around. The little guy can be seen picking up clothes pegs, a screwdriver, a cork, and many more items, only to deposit them neatly into a box! At one point, Welsh Tidy Mouse – as Rodney calls his little housekeeper, even pulls pieces of string into the tub as though he were the first mate on a boat.

A returning guest

Rodney says the events have been going on for about two months, with the mouse reappearing nearly every night. “At first, I noticed that some food I was putting out for the birds was ending up in some old shoes”. Clearly, it didn’t stay at that. “I couldn’t believe it when I saw that the mouse was tidying up”, the pensioner says. “He moved all sorts of things into the box: bits of plastic, nuts and bolts. I don’t bother to tidy up now, as I know he will see to it”. “I think he would tidy my wife away if I let her in there”, Rodney jokingly concludes.
