Just like dry food, wet food can be complete and balanced, which means that it contains all the nutrients your cat needs to thrive in the right proportions. Just look at most of our Catit wet food! Simply follow the feeding guide on the packaging to be sure your feline gets all the nutrients they need.

Wet food is great for kittens

From around 3 to 4 weeks of age, kittens can start eating solid food. Wet food is ideal for introducing them to solids, as it’s easier to chew and digest than dry kibble. It also provides essential nutrients and moisture to support their rapid growth, hydration, and overall development.

Wet food can help prevent urinary issues in cats

Wet food consists of about 80% nutrient-rich moisture, which helps your feline friend stay hydrated. This hydration is important for preventing crystal formation in the kidneys and bladder, as well as reducing the risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs) and other urinary issues.

Cats prefer wet food to be chilled

Cats generally don’t enjoy their wet food straight from the fridge, as they instinctively prefer it closer to the temperature of freshly caught prey. Cold food also dulls the aroma, making it less enticing. Try removing any cans or cartons of wet food from the fridge about 15 minutes before serving the food to stimulate your cat’s appetite.

It’s okay to feed your cat dog food when you run out of cat food

While wet food for cats and dogs may look similar, dog food often lacks essential nutrients that cats need to thrive, such as taurine and arachidonic acid. Cats also require a higher intake of meat-based protein than dogs, so it’s important not to feed your feline friend dog food.
