Closing the year in cat style
As we count down to a new year, there’s plenty to get excited about, including a brand-new edition of our cat art contest! In this magazine issue, we dive into your most-asked cat questions, explore winter adventures in the snow, and share cozy insights on brushing, loafing, and everything in between.

How to participate
Step 1: enter your artwork
From December 1, 2025 until January 25, 2026, you can enter a photo of your cat-themed artwork in the contest.
Step 2: the jury will review your art
All works of art will go through a review process to filter out any creations that go against the rules and regulations.
Step 3: vote for your favorite artworks
From January 30, 2026, until February 25, 2026, you can vote for your favorite works of art. Don’t forget to encourage all your friends to show their support!
Step 4: the winners are announced
The winners will be announced in the My Cat Exclusive Magazine issue of March 2026. In addition, the winners will be notified of their winnings through e-mail.

collar into pretty much all of her paintings.

With nearly 400K Instagram followers, Vanessa Stockard must be one of Australia’s most famous artists. Star of her paintings is Kevin, a tiny black cat with piercing yellow eyes, wearing an Elizabethan collar. While Kevin used to be hidden as a quirky detail, he has become a central and much beloved figure in Stockard’s work.
Salvador Dalí had a pet ocelot.

The Spanish surrealist Salvador Dalí was a huge cat lover and in the 1960s he even had a pet ocelot called Babou. A friend of Dalí once stated “I only saw the ocelot smile once; the day it escaped and sent the guests at the Meurice [a luxury hotel in Paris] scurrying like rats for cover.”
Pablo Picasso wasn’t fond of cats as a stray once walked across and ruined one of his paintings.

Pablo Picasso actually loved cats throughout his life, and felines appear in various of his artworks. The famous Spanish artist was often photographed with cats, including his Siamese cat, Minou.
There’s an artist who photoshops her chunky orange cat into famous artworks.

If you’re in for a chuckle, go have a look at the work of Svetlana Petrova and her cat Zarathustra. The digital artist makes photos of her chubby orange tabby and photoshops them into famous artworks such as Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. The result won’t fail to bring a smile to your face.
The famous lithograph “La Tournée du Chat Noir” was made by Rodolphe Salis.

Although Rodolphe Salis’s name appears on the famous Parisian poster of a black cat on a yellow background, the lithograph was actually created by Swiss painter Théophile Alexandre Steinlen. Salis was the owner of the cabaret featured in the artwork, called Le Chat Noir, which means The Black Cat in French.
