What are meat meals?
Some people believe that meat meal is just ground up inferior animal parts, but that’s far from the truth. Meat meals are made by cooking and dehydrating regular, succulent meat, including the bone. First, the raw meat is cooked at high temperatures in order to kill any microorganisms that could otherwise cause the meat to spoil. Next, all moisture is removed, turning the meat stew into a dry powder.
Is meat meal nutritious?
The quality of the meat meal of course depends on the quality of the meat that goes into it. High-quality meat meal is an incredible source of nutrients. Since they’re basically a highly concentrated form of meat, meat meals are chock-full of all-natural proteins, amino acids, and vitamins. To produce 1kg of meat meal, up to 5kg of meat is used. The moisture that is extracted doesn’t go to waste either, as it’s used in different parts of the pet food industry.
