Missing cat quiz

Most lost cats are found within 1 mile of their home

YOU’RE RIGHT!

SORRY, YOU’VE GOT IT WRONG…

Cats usually don’t wander far from home, but that doesn’t always guarantee they’ll find their way back. If your cat goes missing, start your search in the immediate neighborhood, as that’s where they’re most likely to be.

Microchipped cats are way more likely to be returned to their owners than non-microchipped cats

YOU’RE RIGHT!

SORRY, YOU’VE GOT IT WRONG…

A simple microchip may well be the difference between your feline friend being returned home or not. Research shows that cats are over 20 times more likely to be returned to their owners if they are microchipped. So, what are you waiting for?

The longest a cat ever went missing before being returned home safely is 11 years

YOU’RE RIGHT!

SORRY, YOU’VE GOT IT WRONG…

In March 2025, Sunshine, a pedigree Bengal cat, was safely returned home after being missing for an astonishing 16 years! The poor cat was brought to a vet by someone who thought she was a stray, but her microchip soon told a different story. Needless to say, Mr. Pullen, Sunshine’s owner, was over the moon when he heard that his beloved feline friend, now 19 years old, was still alive and well. The adorable feline will get to spend her senior years safely back home.

When your cat goes missing, you should wait at least a week before you start searching

YOU’RE RIGHT!

SORRY, YOU’VE GOT IT WRONG…

When your cat goes missing, the sooner you start searching, the better the chances of finding them safely. While roaming, your cat may face many dangers, such as busy traffic, large predators, or even accidentally getting locked in a shed without food or water. Be sure to inform your neighbors so they can keep an eye out and help with the search.

Only outdoor cats need to be microchipped

YOU’RE RIGHT!

SORRY, YOU’VE GOT IT WRONG…

Not only outdoor cats go missing, indoor cats can escape and disappear too. While outdoor cats may have some street smarts when they wander far from home, indoor cats usually don’t. That’s why it’s especially important to find and return indoor cats quickly, and microchip can definitely help make that happen!
